As a kid, I built up a huge coillcteon of comics (including a run of Uncanny X-Men, Amazing Fantasy 15, and Spider-Man 1) but I sold them all to pay for college. Nowadays, I'm trying to rebuild parts of that coillcteon.I don't know that anyone in the comic community feels distinct or unique when it comes to collecting. Some creators are collectors, but many are not.I like the idea of variant covers. I don't usually buy that many unless the cover really speaks to me. I guess different shops charge different things for them? Where I buy my books, variants aren't usually priced too outrageously. |
